PESHAWAR, jan 01. An independent candidate from National Assembly (NA) 15 Karak, Gul Taz Ali announced to boycott the upcoming polls of Jan 8 to express solidarity with Pakistan People’s Party-P slain leader, Mohtarma Benazir Bhattu.

Addressing a news conference here at Press Club on Tuesday, he said that the killing of former chairperson of PPP-P was a pre-planned.

He said that he had come from America to contest the general elections of 2008, and a successful door-to-door election campaign, he did, which he said was a hopeful to win the seat of Na 15 for next term of 5 years.

He said that he was no need of coming here to Pakistan, but he wished to struggle for the rights of people of Karak, including natural resources, gas and mineral and resolve the problems of them.

To a query, he said that when a greatest personality and a Democratic Party leader, Mohatrma Benzair Bhattu could not save her life, then what would be the condition of a common man here in Pakistan.

About fair and free forthcoming elections, he said it was impossible to hold free, fair and impartial elections under the caretaker government, which was totally biased.

He appealed president Pervez Musharraf to quit his post for the sake of the country, and Pak army should concentrate on its responsibilities, for which they were recruited.

He, therefore, said that he withdrew himself from forthcoming general elections as protest and boycott and express solidarity with the rest leaders of Pakistan People’s Party, over the slain of Mohtarma Benzair Bhattu.
