The local journalists protest killing of Kamil Mashhadi

PESHAWAR, Dec 31. The local Journalists staged Monday a protest demonstration against the killing their colleague, Kamil Mashdi, in front of Press Club.

Several senior journalists led by Peshawar Press Club participated in the protest demos demanding the arrest of the killers and give them exemplary punishment.

The media men were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans reads; Sahafio Ko Thafuz Du (Provide the security to media persons), Qatilo Ko Giraftar Karo (Arrest the murderers).

Addressing the protesters on the occasion, Peshawar Press Club president M. Riaz Khan, said that the journalists were the polite and dignified figures of the society and they must be provided security.

He demanded of the provincial government to arrest the culprits as soon as possible and send them behind the bar in order to become a lesson for others, who count not dare to repeat such heinous act.

“Kamil Mashadi was a brave, poor and innocent journalist and he had no enmity with any one, then why he had been killed,” the president questioned?

Later on, expressing deep sorrow with the killed journalist, the media men prayed for the departed soul of slain media man that Allah Almighty provide eternal peace to the soul of the deceased and give fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this great loss.

It merits mentioning here that Kamil Mashadi was a reporter in News-One, who was killed by some unknown armed persons on Sunday night, when the killers first called him to come out of his home, but no sooner did he came out then, they opened fire at him, which Kamil got two bullets on his head, was rushed to nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
