Tribesmen of Mohmand Agency demanded of government to stop paramilitary operation in Musa Khel and Safi territory of the agency.

Bjauar Agency, Jan 11. Tribesmen of Mohmand Agency demanded of government to stop paramilitary operation in Musa Khel and Safi territory of the agency.

Talking to newsmen during a protest camp established by Shahbaz Yasir Ali Babazey, candidate for National Assembly (NA) 36, mohmand agency here in front of Press Club on Wednesday, he said that frontier corps had launched operation in the some parts of mohmand agency in the name of Taliban, which it had used heavy guns against local people.

Yasir said that some five trucks of flour and three oil tankers were being tried to smuggle to Afghanistan through the way of the Musa Khel and Safi by the help of some local Maliks and government’s high ups, which the local people called Taliban had seized the smugglers and did not allow them to carry the trucks to Afghanistan.

About the existence of taliban in Mohmand agency, he said that no doubt, they (taliban) belonged to the agency and due to their presence in the areas and precaution measures, there was complete peace in the agency.

All kidnappers, gamblers, hired killers and high-level criminals have fled from the agency because of the pressure of local taliban, as criminals know that the taliban do not allow any culprit there and if they find someone, give punishment on the spot, he said.

He said the political administration could not tolerate such peace in the agency, and on the pretext of seizing trucks by taliban, without informing the residences of Musa Khel and Safi, political administration launched operation against them and made massacres of local people including women, children and old men.

He said that about 3000 families had shifted to other areas of agency and Peshawar due to heave guns being used by the administration against.

He said that Mohmand tribesmen were brave, patriot and real sincere to Pakistan and guardians of the country sans salary, of which government was giving us punishment to have such aspects.

He requested all the 24 candidates contesting upcoming general elections from Na 36 to boycott the polls as protest till the operation stopped.

Independent Candidates for NA II, Asifullah Qasmi, PF 4, former member provincial assembly, Mohammad Ibrahim Qasmi and PF III, Mohammad Ismail Darwesh visited the protesting camp, who said government should stop operation in Mohmand agency and resolve all issues through negotiations.

They said that government should also stop operations in other tribal agencies, as it was not the way to forcibly bring peace there, because, the reactions of the government’s operations in North and South Waziristan, the nation were already facing.

PESHAWAR, jan 01. An independent candidate from National Assembly (NA) 15 Karak, Gul Taz Ali announced to boycott the upcoming polls of Jan 8 to express solidarity with Pakistan People’s Party-P slain leader, Mohtarma Benazir Bhattu.

Addressing a news conference here at Press Club on Tuesday, he said that the killing of former chairperson of PPP-P was a pre-planned.

He said that he had come from America to contest the general elections of 2008, and a successful door-to-door election campaign, he did, which he said was a hopeful to win the seat of Na 15 for next term of 5 years.

He said that he was no need of coming here to Pakistan, but he wished to struggle for the rights of people of Karak, including natural resources, gas and mineral and resolve the problems of them.

To a query, he said that when a greatest personality and a Democratic Party leader, Mohatrma Benzair Bhattu could not save her life, then what would be the condition of a common man here in Pakistan.

About fair and free forthcoming elections, he said it was impossible to hold free, fair and impartial elections under the caretaker government, which was totally biased.

He appealed president Pervez Musharraf to quit his post for the sake of the country, and Pak army should concentrate on its responsibilities, for which they were recruited.

He, therefore, said that he withdrew himself from forthcoming general elections as protest and boycott and express solidarity with the rest leaders of Pakistan People’s Party, over the slain of Mohtarma Benzair Bhattu.
